چکیده

The paper presents the experimental test results reflecting comparative changes in performance efficiency and emissions of exhaust a naturally aspirated, four-stroke, single-cylinder, air-cooled diesel engine due to its transition from neat rapeseed oil biodiesel fuel blends prepared by mixing various proportion (by volume) methyl ester (B) butanol (Bu). lubricity properties biodiesel-n-butanol were studied using HFRR method. In contrast previous works, undertaken investigation is performed with totally renewable, binary liquid biofuel blends. purpose research reduce simultaneously production NOx smoke respect potentially improved homogeneity combustible mixture particulate matter benefits suggested higher oxygen content (21.62wt%) relatively lower carbon-to-hydrogen ratio (4.8) normal n-butanol. tests revealed that brake specific consumption for always than produces under same loading conditions. Maximum nitrogen oxide (NOx) obtained running on (2290 ppm). At full (100%) load conditions, lowest emission was BBu20 blend. level carbon monoxide (CO) observed, when most butanol-oxygenated blend BBu20.The highest opacity fuelled at load.

Performance and Emissions of a Tractor engine operating on biodiesel-diesel blends with EGR

The influences of different diesel/biodiesel blends and EGR rate on brake specific fuel consumption (BSFC), exhaust gas temperature, NO, HC, CO emissions, are studied and demonstrated. In this paper a four stroke direct injection, water cooled, diesel engine was used. Biodiesel either in neat form or as a blend with diesel fuel is extensively investigated to solve the twin problem of reduction ...

Prediction and Comparison of the Effect of N-butanol and Ethanol Addition to the Biodiesel-diesel Fuel Mixture on the Performance and Emissions Characteristics of a Diesel Engine

The main objective of this research is to study the effects of n-butanol and ethanol addition to the biodiesel-diesel fuel mixture on the performance and emission characteristics of a CI engine. The experimental tests were performed on a diesel engine. The RSM (Response Surface Methodology) method was used to develop mathematical models based on experimental data. According to the results, the ...

Investigation of the Effects of JP-4 Addition to Biodiesel-Diesel Blends on the Performance Characteristics of a Diesel Engine

In this study, the effects of JP-4-biodiesel-diesel blends and engine operating parameters on the performance characteristics of a diesel engine were investigated. The experimental tests were performed on a four-cylinder DI diesel engine. The Mixture-RSM method was applied to develop the mathematical models based on the experimental data. The results showed that the fitted models could be prope...
